In my honest opinion, dont play this with the intention of having a smooth ride, if you want to play it long term with lots of hearthlings and combat and custom buildings, if your playing casual, low numbers, simple buildings, etc. I think that the controls for building and especially custom building are not incredibly intuitive, but thats my opinion, and Ive still owned and played the game a few times over the course of a few years. yes you can play with fewer hearthlings and you can even play on peaceful mode so theres no enemies, but as long as thats what you wanted out of the game thats fine. No they generally havent fixed the most prevalent ones, imo. I would say in short, that It can be fun, i think with the bugs and performance issues at the stage its at and for the cost, you may want to make sure that you can even play it on your own before tackling it with multiple people, alot of the bugs which you've obviously read about. ![]()

![]() ![]() There’d always been an exhilarating rush Ivy enjoyed in the face of true peril - despite all the glamour and poise, she would always be vulnerable to the destructive whims of a restless soul - but she wasn’t stupid. ![]() She’d have to be careful getting herself unstuck here. It’d taken only moments for its tendrils to zero in on Talim’s pitiful struggles and ensure her unceremonious consumption. Struggle, distress, any movement that disrupted the sandy walls of its death trap – those were the droplets of blood this beast used to hunt. Grim, but the view had informed her of something important. At the far side of the slope, leg pinned beneath a fallen post blasted loose from the explosion, Ivy Valentine gave the briefest of grimaces as she watched the poor wind dancer’s waggling hand drop out of sight and the tendril that’d claimed her unfurl once again from the hungry maw. In her final moments of undevoured awareness, Talim’s upturned gaze watched the world above her fall away within an encroaching frame of teeth, the tendril around her throat withdrawing and leaving her to be unceremoniously swallowed down into oblivion. One of Talim’s hands fruitlessly clutched at the tendril around her neck, the other stretched out in a silent plea before she tipped into the pit and away from any hope of rescue. The slope gave way beneath her feet, opening into a hot and empty space below. The pressure was horrendous, a slow squeeze that crushed the delicate tendons and veins in her neck like rose stems and pushed her tongue out over her teeth as pretty bloodshot eyes rolled to the sky for the last time. The tendril continued up its prize, moving across her stomach and finally around her slender throat in a terminal yet simple purchase. Nobody above seemed to hear her, or if they did, they did not come to help. Her breaths hissed through clenched teeth as she felt the hot friction of the sand glowing against her bare stomach and face. It began retracting, tugging poor Talim down a few feet downwards as mortal terror bled through her mind and body. ![]() Within seconds it extended up around her thigh, squeezing tight enough to cause Talim’s hands to abandon their hold on the slope and push, whimpering, against its grinding grip. Talim assured herself that it was her best to locate Soul Edge by joining Ivy’s cohort, counting on her latent empathetic insights as a wind priestess to soothe her employer’s maniacal tendencies and ensure that the blade would be destroyed as opposed to claimed when their excursion came to an end. She didn’t want to die, didn’t want to fall into that dank, animal darkness of primal appetite. Talim was not above whimpering – she could feel the sand giving way beneath her sandaled feet, could hear the dreaded pit below her gurgling in anticipation. I also think Galadriel should be taller (if they can make the Harfoots small they can make the elves tall!) and wonder where her husband, Celeborn, is supposed to be, but these are minor quibbles. Gil-Galad would not have the power to send her back at this point, which makes everything that follows on the golden ship a bit odd. She had already turned down the voyage after the defeat of Morgoth at the end of the Second Age, choosing instead to stay and build a kingdom in Middle-earth-and because Sauron was not yet defeated. Gil-Galad could not have sent Galadriel back to Valinor. I understand, a little action is needed to keep audiences from growing bored, but I’d prefer a grittier and more down-to-earth style. The fight against the Snow Troll was cheesy, over-the-top action fare that was too reminiscent of The Hobbit trilogy’s excesses. There are a few things that bother me about Galadriel’s storyline in these two episodes. Upon returning, the entire company is honored by the High King and given passage form the Grey Havens to Valinor, a gift Galadriel is eager to turn down, her quest to find Sauron far from complete. They will return to the elven capitol, Lindon, without her if they must. When all is said and done, she wants to press further into the frozen wastes, but her companions tell her she’s going to have to go alone. ![]() They also encounter an ice troll that Galadriel dispatches handily with her blade. Her and a company of elves make their way to an ancient fortress in the frozen north where she finds a symbol of the enemy still burning amid the ice and cold. He was killed by Sauron and she took up his quest to seek out the evil that threatens Middle-earth and her people-and continues to hunt long after the last orc has seemingly vanished from the land. Finrod (Will Fletcher) is her elder sibling, and a mentor from her earliest days in Valinor. In any case, Galadriel has been following in her brother’s footsteps. But then one has to wonder, why not simply make a new elven warrior princess and have her take on this role rather than Galadriel? Better to make her younger and burning with passion. ![]() It’s boring to have Galadriel start out as the austere and wise figure she is in Lord Of The Rings. I think the reason the show’s creators are making her come across as younger and more hot-headed than she likely would have been at this point is to give her character more of an arc. She would already be many thousands of years old by the time this story begins, and would be given great respect and deference by her peers, including Elrond (Robert Aramayo) and the High King, Gil-Galad (Benjamin Walker) who, despite his rank, is still younger than Galadriel, having been born in Middle-earth rather than Valinor. I like this version of Galadriel even if it doesn’t quite ring true. Galadriel here is pluckier and angrier, a warrior on a dark quest, reluctant to heed the advice of her fellow elves or turn back even when all seems futile. ![]() ![]() Spawning Items by Naming an AnimalĪs said above, purchasing an animal to spawn items has the disadvantage in that it costs money and requires you to first reach a stage in the game at which you can buy animals, but it can be done more than once (whereas naming your character can only be done at the start of the game).
